The SatNEx Network of Excellence is pleased to announce the fourth annual International SatNEx Summer School 2008, hosted by the Institute of Information Science and Technologies (ISTI), an institute of the Italian National Research Council (CNR), Italy.
The School will take place from 27 July to 1st August 2008.
The five-day school provides a comprehensive programme of advanced technical and scientific lectures, which cover specific areas in satellite communications. Each lecture's day is devoted to a specific argument, in order to deeply investigate such a topic. Each lecture lasts five hours (3.5 hours in the morning and 1.5 hours in the afternoon). At the end of each lecture day, the lecturer will propose a collaborative test to the attendees. These tests will allow PhD students to grant credits for their PhD courses.
A certificate of attendance valid for 1 ECTS point will be provided to those attendees who will sustain each daily test.
Each lecture will start at 9.00 a.m. till 1.00 p.m., and from 2.00 p.m. till 3.30 p.m. Tests will start at 4.00 p.m. till 5.00 p.m.
The registration to the school is free of charge for SatNex members only. Please visit the Registration link.
Lunches and the social dinner are offered by the SatNEx project to all participants.
Social events will give the participants the possibility to get in touch with other PhD students and young researchers interested in the field of satellite communications systems, to exchange ideas and to enlarge their personal network.
The SatNEx Summer School is open to anyone interested in satellite communications and is likely to appeal in particular to postgraduate students, young researchers from academic and/or industrial organisations, and those wishing to refresh their skills in what is a rapidly evolving industry.
To fully appreciate the technical nature of the course, a first degree in networking or telecommunications engineering or a related subject is recommended.
